Our specialist consultant child psychiatrist-led team provides ADHD testing, autism (ASD) testing and for those with child and adolescent mental health concerns. Every child is unique and when challenges with mood, behaviour or learning appear it can be overwhelming when looking for the right help.
Here at Healing Young Minds, we follow official NICE guidelines to work closely with parents, schools and healthcare professionals to create plans specific to your child’s needs.
ADHD Testing
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) can present itself as hyperactive-impulsive with symptoms such as restlessness, excessive energy or impulsivity, or it can present itself as inattentive with symptoms such as daydreaming, difficulty sustaining attention on long tasks, struggling with schedules, managing time, losing items and avoiding tasks that require mental effort. It can also be a combined presentation which includes focus/organisation challenges with restlessness and impulsivity.
Our team follows official NICE guidelines to perform ADHD tests using clinical interviews, developmental histories and feedback from home and school. We provide actionable strategies, school support plans and child specific management options.
Autism (ASD) Testing
Recognising that your child is experiencing the world differently is key to accessing the support that they need. Our gold-standard autism testing follows NICE guidelines and includes gold-standard diagnostic tools such as the ADOS-2 (direct play and interaction assessment) and the ADI-R (detailed development history with parents). This gives a complete picture of your child and guides putting in tailored support at home, school and in healthcare settings.
General Child & Adolescent Health
We assess children and adolescents that might be struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD and more. Our assessments and care plans are guided by latest evidence and NICE guidelines.

Assess
We offer thorough specialist psychiatric assessments of difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, school refusal, behavioural difficulties etc. that may indicate the presence of an underlying neurodevelopmental or mental health condition. We understand that every child is different with a unique set of circumstances, background, and environment, and assessments and management plans are tailored to suit each individual.

Diagnose
We offer multidisciplinary diagnostic assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD using standardised tools. We can also diagnose mental health disorders where indicated. Full diagnostic reports are provided by the Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist.

Help Manage
We can help manage neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions following the latest evidence base and guidelines. Management plans are comprehensive and take into account the child’s wider environment including the educational setting. We can provide advice that will inform EHCPs where necessary.
